This event is a great opportunity to reflect on the progress women have made and to shine a light on current achievements and struggles. Our speaker will be Jane Caro and we are supporting The Girls Refuge, an organisation helping girls in crisis. I would like to send a big thank you to Kinda-mindi Early Learning Centre and Santa Sabina College for pitching in for Clean Up Australia Day. They both hosted clean up events in the Strathfield LGA and did a great job. Visit Clean Up Australia for more information on how you can get involved. Finally, the Community Garden group held their first event of 2024 last week. The garden was open Thursday from 3pm – 5.30pm with members getting their hands dirty tidying the garden beds and watering the vegetables. You can join in the fun too, by registering here. The project was funded by the NSW Government, with a grant allowing the artist Christina Huynh to use her magic and talent at four locations in the Strathfield area. The locations of the murals are Hudson Park Oval, Strathfield Town Centre Car Park, 90-92 The Cresent, Homebush West and the Corner of Rochester and Broughton Road. Check out the local events on for Wurridjal Festival 2024 With FREE events throughout March and April, the festival marks the start of a season known as ‘Wurridjal’ in Dharug – when thousands of mullets enter the Cooks River during their pre-spawning migration. Strathfield Business Summit Join us for a panel discussion with policymakers, urban planners and architects on what good development looks like when tackling a housing crisis. The Strathfield Community Garden is looking for new members. All are welcome to join. The garden is open weekly on Thursdays from 3pm - 5:30pm. Registrations are essential. Upcoming Council Closure Strathfield Council Customer Service and Library will be closed for the Industry Public Holiday on Friday 8 March 2024. Returning to normal operating hours on Monday 11 March 2024. Hudson Park Driving Range will be functioning at normal capacity and Strathfield Library will have extended access to those registered between 9am to 6pm. Don't forget to have your say!
