Cr Karen Pensabene, Mayor of Strathfield

Dear Residents,

I am looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow at Councils International Women’s Day morning tea! This event is a great opportunity to reflect on the progress women have made and to shine a light on current achievements and struggles. Our speaker will be Jane Caro and we are supporting The Girls Refuge, an organisation helping girls in crisis.

I would like to send a big thank you to Kinda-mindi Early Learning Centre and Santa Sabina College for pitching in for Clean Up Australia Day. They both hosted clean up events in the Strathfield LGA and did a great job. Visit Clean Up Australia for more information on how you can get involved.

Finally, the Community Garden group held their first event of 2024 last week. The garden was open Thursday from 3pm – 5.30pm with members getting their hands dirty tidying the garden beds and watering the vegetables. You can join in the fun too, by registering here.

If you need to contact me or have any questions, please do so by emailing me cr.kpensabene@strathfield.nsw.gov.au or ring our office on 9748 9999

Beautiful new murals around the Strathfield LGA

If you've been out and about in our neighbourhood recently you may have seen one of the new murals that have been freshly completed.

The project was funded by the NSW Government, with a grant allowing the artist Christina Huynh to use her magic and talent at four locations in the Strathfield area. The locations of the murals are Hudson Park Oval, Strathfield Town Centre Car Park, 90-92 The Cresent, Homebush West and the Corner of Rochester and Broughton Road. Check out the video on the project here.
