Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area - We want your feedback!

Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area protects more than 1200 hectares of wetland, eucalypt forest, salt marsh and mangrove habitat.

The area is ideal for short and long walks, bike riding, trail running, birdwatching and is the perfect spot to get up close with native wildlife. It's also a great opportunity to appreciate an ecologically significant area.

Coombabah wetlands is part of the internationally significant Southern Moreton Bay Marine Park and is registered in the Ramsar Convention on wetlands of international importance.

It is a site suitable for all fitness levels, with flat level tracks, however, at present, there a minimal amenities to facilitate longer stays.

We are seeking your feedback on what you like about the area and what kind of improvements you would like to see.  Access the survey via https://forms.office.com/r/DrAKpp0CBv before the end of November 2024.

Movies Under The Stars

Movies Under the Stars has returned to Paradise Point Parklands for another season of free entertainment.  The Wonka movie which was shown last weekend drew a keen crowd and mother nature was kind to us keeping the rain at bay.

Next weekend on 9 November will present 'Trolls Band Together'.  Again there will be pre-movie entertainment including kid's activities and live musicians, so come along to make a night of it!

The next planned date after this is 15 February where Barbie will be the movie of choice.  Keep an eye on my Facebook and future eNewsletters to help decide the last movie of the series planned for 15 March, where we will be trialling a viewing that caters for an older audience.

Your pawfect chance for a doggy Christmas snap

For those in the community who adore their fur-babies, come along to Paradise Point Parklands on 2 November between 9am and 11am for your opportunity to have a free professional photo taken of you and your four-legged friend.

We will be providing this activation as part of the Animal Welfare League Community Christmas Picnic.  A free digital copy of your image will provided in time for you to include in your Christmas greetings.

A special thank you to Labrador Men's Shed who are generously donating their time to build a very special Division 4 Christmas chair that can be used from year to year for this purpose.

As a proud supporter of the Gold Coast Wind Orchestra, I encourage residents to consider attending one of their low cost concerts and am particularly excited to share details for their upcoming Remembrance Concert at St Stephen’s College, Upper Coomera.

Community Spotlight - Red Gum Village, Coombabah

Red Gum Village on Hansford Road hosted a very special event for their residents last month, spreading the question and conversation – RU OK?

The event was well attended with over 120 homeowners joining in the celebrations and festivities, which included information on the cost of living rebate roll out.

Meaningful connection and generating a strong sense of community are core values in my role and so it was great to see Red Gum building positive working relationships between their management team and residents.
