Peking Duk set to turn up the heat at The Big Chill 2025 Armidale Regional Council’s Big Chill Festival has once again secured top line talent for this year’s event with a huge lineup of live music acts all packed into one massive day on Saturday 17 May 2025. The popular regional music festival - which draws visitors and music lovers from all over the country - has previously attracted big-name acts including The Rubens, Diesel, Birds of Tokyo, Jack River, and Tori Drake. This year, ARC is excited to announce Peking Duk as the headline act for Big Chill 2025. The popular electronic music band is known for their genre-bending sound, blending house, pop, and alternative music, generating over 750,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Market stall and float applications open for Autumn festival 2025! Applications for market stalls and floats at this year's Autumn festival are now open! The much-anticipated Autumn Festival event, set to celebrate the vibrant community and seasonal changes in Armidale, offers a fantastic opportunity for businesses, artisans, and food vendors to be part of one of the region’s signature festivals. For more information visit Updated regulations surrounding passenger security at airport The Department of Home Affairs has updated regulations surrounding passenger security at all Australian security-controlled airports. This includes Armidale Regional Airport. Since 1 February 2025, all passengers travelling on Qantaslink flights between Armidale and Sydney must undergo body scanner screening, with the only exception being those with special circumstances as specified by the Department of Home Affairs
A message from our Parks and Open Space team We are dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the beauty of our community spaces. Our responsibilities encompass 270 hectares of grass, parks, and playing fields, including 77 parks, 8 cemeteries, and 21 playing fields. We take great pride in our work and strive to provide well-maintained and welcoming environments for all to enjoy. Over the past few months, we have faced unforeseen challenges with weather conditions, higher than normal volume in service requests and machinery challenges that have impacted our ability to maintain the high standards we aim for. We acknowledge these difficulties and are working diligently to overcome them. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges. Lower Creek Community Hall project update Pouring of the building slab for Lower Creek Community Hall has been completed this week. Funded by the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program, the Lower Creek Community Hall and Evacuation Centre project provides the community of Lower Creek with a valuable purpose-built facility. Erection of the building structure, and external cladding and roofing, is due to commence mid-February.

Armidale waste management facility | CLOSED 17-18 March The ARC Waste Management Facility on Long Swamp Road will be CLOSED from 17-18 March 2025. Don’t worry, though – household waste and recycling collections are as usual.
