Cr Karen Pensabene, Mayor of Strathfield

Dear Residents,

You may have noticed some radars have been installed in our streets. These are a safety feature that let drivers know how fast they are traveling and remind them to slow down. The radars are located on Arthur and Barker Streets and do not issue fines.

Be sure to check out the program for Youth Week 2024, you can now register for sports activities at Strathfield Park on 26 April. Don't miss out, this is sure to book out fast! Register here.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for all the get well and best wishes I have received over the past few weeks. It has been a very difficult and unexpected time, but I am now on the road to recovery, and I am planning on being back for the next Council Meeting on Tuesday 23 April.

If you need to contact me or have any questions, please do so by emailing me cr.kpensabene@strathfield.nsw.gov.au or ring our office on 9748 9999

THROWBACK THURSDAY

Connect with Strathfield’s Oral Histories!

The National Trust’s Heritage Festival runs from 18 April until 19 May 2024. This year the theme is Connections. See the NSW program of events.

Between 1993 and 2003 interviews were conducted with former councillors, mayors and senior staff of Strathfield Council. These have now been digitised. During this Heritage Festival, we invite you to connect with our local history by participating in an Amplify program to help transcribe some of these interviews for the future. Interviewees include Eve Dutton, Strathfield’s first female mayor.

To get involved, you can find the interviews here.
