SILVI GLATTAUER | PHOTO MEDIA ARTIST

Silvi Glattauer Journey's in Photography

Silvi Glattauer, a Naarm, Melbourne-based photo-media artist, seamlessly integrates digital and handmade techniques, notably excelling in the contemporary Photopolymer Photogravure process. We were able to ask her a few questions about her journey as a photographer.

"Photography is in my blood; both my grandfather and father were seasoned photographers. Growing up, I was fully immersed in the craft, spending countless hours in my dad's darkrooms, assisting him on shoots, and honing my skills in his Footscray studio. I found myself drawn to the tactile aspects of photography from an early age. While I delved into commercial photography as a second career in my late twenties, it was the hands-on craft of darkroom printing that truly captivated me. The materiality of the print has always been my focus. After a stint in commercial work, I made the bold leap into a purely creative pursuit, where my direction shifted to teaching and crafting my own artistic visions.I use thePhotogravure technique to make prints–a combination of digital photography and traditional etching. Simultaneously, I played a pivotal role in establishing The Baldessin Press & Studio in StAndrews, a venture I've been committed to since its inception in 2003. This fusion of teaching, creating, and nurturing a printmaking haven has become the cornerstone of my artistic journey"

KAT CHIEN | GRAPHIC DESIGNER

A Unique Christmas Card

For their annual Christmas card, Kat Chien's client aimed to convey the theme of 'home' in a unique and memorable way. Departing from the traditional Christmas card colour scheme of green, red, and white, deep tones from the client's new brand palette were used along with a simple illustration reminiscent of Christmases in Australia. The result was a piece that resonated with recipients and created conversations between the client and its customers. The results were so pleasing that the same concept was incorporated into a recent Facebook paid ad campaign to target new customers."

SUE STUBBS | PHOTOGRAPHER

Plastification

Showcasing Sue Stubb's beautiful interpretation of the impacts of plastic in our world.
"Our everyday accepts plastic in our lives in every way, hauntingly beautiful and integrated but the impact is we are literally drowning and dying in plastic contamination. As we kill of wildlife, rivers, ocean, the only thing that will survive is plastic."

TESTIMONIALS

ISSEY PENNEL | ACCOUNT MANAGER

“After being made redundant in my previous role, Sally made the process of finding a new job a breeze. She was highly organised and prompt throughout the entire process. Thanks to her, I'm now in a role that perfectly fits my skills and career aspirations. I'm incredibly grateful for her dedication and highly recommend her for her commitment to finding the right match for candidates.”

TRACEY HAZELWOOD | DIGITAL MARKETING

"Sally has been such an amazing resource and I feel so privileged to get to know her. She took the time to ask me questions about my experience, what my skills are and what sort of work I'm looking for. She also spoke to me about the type of people that I like to work with and what my main goals and concerns are in working with people. As a busy mum who prioritised my children first in their earlier years, Sally has made the whole process of re-entering into employed work so easy.

I felt she really listened to what I had to say when looking for a role, and the options she brought to me to consider were fantastic. She has also been a great advocate as well between myself and employers with communicating hours and availability. I have never once needed to chase Sally for a follow up, her communication is exceptional.

Sally is truly invaluable - she is more than worth her weight in gold!"

He’s also an image creator, working in various mediums such as pencil and graphite, pen and ink, oil pastel, and oil paint.
