13 August 2026

Dear Residents,

I am looking forward to meeting those who have RSVP'd to attend the official opening of our latest art exhibition The Tractor Chapters: Annabel Butler this evening at the Ironbark Gallery. Substitutes for humans, Annabel’s anthropomorphic vehicles have lives of their own and you can see them almost strolling out of the paintings from tomorrow until 11 October 2026.

Next Monday will mark 35 years since the Strathfield Massacre. Council is joining Cumberland RSL Sub-branch in Strathfield Square to honour the seven victims of the of the tragic events that unfolded on 17 August 1991. Please join us to pay your respects at 11am in Strathfield Square.

Finally, I look forward to seeing you at my Street Meetings this Saturday 15 August! I very much enjoy the opportunity to meet with residents and hear what matters to you. I’ll be at the corner of Mackenzie Street and Bridge Road, Homebush at 12pm and Davey Square Reserve, Coventry Road, Strathfield at 1pm. See you there!

If you need to contact me or have any questions, please do so by emailing me cr.bcai@strathfield.nsw.gov.au or ring our office on 9748 9999.

Cr Benjamin Cai, Mayor of Strathfield

Help Us Keep Our Community Safe and Clean - Report Illegal Dumping on the Strathfield Hub App

No one likes to find illegal dumping near their home, on their daily walk, or in the places they enjoy with family and friends. Not only is illegal dumping a neighbourhood eyesore, it poses human health risks, degrades land value, and costs money to clean up, redirecting rate payer funds that could have otherwise been invested in community facilities and services.

If you find an illegal dumping, please let Council know by reporting it on the StrathfieldHub App! The app is easy to use and gives you direct communication with Council right from your device. You can attach photos to your requests and also monitor Council's progress on your submission and receive timely updates.

Download the app today.
