Sensitive Santa, Andy Griffiths visits and Dinovember Fun

Can you believe we are on the home stretch to Christmas???

Sensitive Santa is back in Casey and bookings are now open to secure your sensory friendly visit with Santa at two of our libraries. This program books out quickly so secure your place now.

The Deliver Joy donation drive is beginning in November where we will be collecting donations for local charities to help those in need. Start stockpiling nonperishable items, toiletries and unwrapped toys to Deliver Joy this Christmas. As a bonus, if you have any lost or damaged Connected Libraries items and you donate, we will waive the charges!

Aside from Christmas activities approaching, we also have legendary children's author Andy Griffiths visiting, as well as Melbourne writer Violeta Bagia who will be running a Writing Workshop for adults.

Please note that all libraries will be closed on Tuesday 5 November for the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday.

Self-Defense for Women, free!

To mark the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence, Endeavour Hills Library is running a Self-Defense for Women course to learn the basics of self-defense.

Over the 4 weeks you will learn different techniques for real life situations. No experience required, beginners are welcome.

Deliver Joy

Deliver joy to local Casey residents in need this Christmas by handing in donations of non-perishable items, toiletries and unwrapped toys into any of our libraries.

💜Bunjil Place Library is collecting items for Transit Outreach Service.
💜Cranbourne Library is collecting items for Community Information and Support Cranbourne
💜Cranbourne West Library Lounge is collecting items for Cranbourne Food Truck.
💜Doveton Library is collecting items for Manna4Life.
💜Endeavour Hills Library is collecting items for The Andrews Centre.
💜Hampton Park Library is collecting items for St Vincent De Paul Society- Berwick Soup Van.

Our gift to you....if you have a lost or damaged library item and make a donation to one of the nominated local charities above, we will waive any charges on Connected Libraries items borrowed at Connected Libraries.

Get ready for a ROARsome time this November with our Virtual Reality Dinosaur Experiences. Step into a prehistoric world at Endeavour Hills Library and Hampton Park Library.

Experience the thrill of walking among these magnificent creatures—all from the comfort of your headset.

Grab your Dinovember Passport from your favorite library for a month filled with dino-mite activities.

Andy Griffiths is coming to
Bunjil Place Library

The Land of Lost Things is the first book in a new series from Andy Griffiths.

At this stage-show, Griffiths will lead audiences through The Land of Lost Things.

Part choose-your-own-adventure, part scavenger quest, part Q&A – let your imagination run wild with Andy Griffiths.

Attendees will have an opportunity to get a photo with Andy and purchase a signed copy of the new book.

Twilight Christmas Market

Swing by Casey's Twilight Christmas Makers' Market to discover gifts and treasures at over 70 local market stalls offering handmade jewelry, accessories, homewares, ceramics and textiles.

There will be live music, an outdoor bar, entertainment, food trucks and kids crafts to keep the whole family entertained.

Sensitive Santa is coming to the library! 

Sensitive Santa allows children who are neuro-diverse and/or with developmental disabilities to chat with Santa and get their Santa photos in a sensory friendly environment.

Lights are dimmed, noise is restricted and there are no crowds. Santa is trained on communicating with children who experience sensitivities.

Photos will be put on a USB and given to the parent after the session. Sessions are free but bookings are essential.

 Bunjil Place Library Temporary Closure 

Bunjil Place Library  will be temporarily closed between
Monday 30 December 2024 - Sunday 12 January 2025 (inclusive) for stair maintenance.

The external return chutes will still be open, as well as our other library locations.
Endeavour Hills Library is our closest library to Bunjil Place.

You will not be able to collect holds during this period. The Bunjil Place precinct will remain open during this period, it’s only the library that is affected. More information on this is coming in the December e-newsletter. 

If you have any questions, phone 1800 577 548 and chat to a friendly team member.

Bunjil Place Library will reopen on Monday 13 January 2025 at 9am. 

 

Cranbourne West Library Lounge - Updated hours

Cranbourne West Library Lounge will now be open from 10am-1pm on the third Saturday of each month.

The dates are: 16 November 2024, 21 December 2024, 18 January 2025, 15 February 2025, 15 March 2025.

 

Public Holiday Closure

Please note that all of our libraries will be closed on Tuesday 5 November for the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday.

Return chutes will remain open and the digital library is available 24/7.
