Changes to Lodgment Rules will require 100% on-line plan lodgment
The Lodgment Rules will soon be changed to require all deposited plans and strata plans to be lodged for registration electronically, through NSW LRS Connect.
The new requirement is planned to take effect from 1 July 2025.
When the Lodgment Rules are changed:
• Over the counter lodgment of survey plans will no longer be accepted.
• All plan lodgments and re-lodgments will need to be made using NSW LRS Connect.
What you should do now
- Anyone wanting to lodge a completed paper plan through the NSW LRS Lodgment Office in person should do so now – before the changes to the Lodgment Rules take effect. Otherwise, these plans must be scanned and lodged through NSW LRS Connect by a registered surveyor.
- Surveyors should consider contacting clients who have paper plans,
to advise them of the upcoming change.
- If you are new to NSW LRS Connect, visit the NSW LRS Connect Help Centre for further assistance on signing up and lodging your first plan.
Why is the change being made
- Already, 99% of plans are lodged electronically
through NSW LRS Connect, taking advantage of the efficiencies provided by an on-line lodgment and registration process.
- 100% on-line plan lodgment is the next step in the digital survey plan reform. A move to intelligent digital survey plans will support a more efficient, accurate and accessible cadastre.
Watch out for further communications
- Further detail about the change will be provided once the amended Lodgment Rules have been published.
- Changes to the Lodgment Rules are required to be published at least 20 business days before they are to commence.
