Primary Newsletter

Dear Primary School Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the new half term at School 21.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our families for your ongoing support of the school and your understanding during our unexpected closure recently. We recognise that organising extra child care can be very difficult.

Thank you to all of our students and their families for attending our performance, ‘How can I be a Poet Puppeteer’ which was held at Stratford Circus. The day was a standout success, showcasing our students widely growing vocabulary, knowledge of poetry and oracy performance techniques. This was a fantastic way to end our first project of the year.

There were two events which required rescheduling due to the closure, and you can find this information below.

Phonics workshop for Reception parents

This will now take place on Wednesday 14th November, 8:40am - 9:30am. Here you will be able to learn how our phonics programme works and how you can further support at home with your child’s learning.

Parent Forum Coffee Morning

On October 19th the Primary and Middle schools had a scheduled coffee morning when a parent’s forum was set to run. This has been rescheduled and will now happen on Thursday 8th November from 8:40am - 9:30am.

A letter was sent home for parents to raise questions to discuss as part of this forum. Follow this link to view the letter. Please either send in suggestions on this or you can email your suggestions to me directly to mdrummond@school21.org.uk

Upcoming dates for your diary:

Maths workshop for Reception Parents

On Monday 5th November you will be able to learn how our Maths Mastery programme works and how you can further support at home with your child’s learning.  The session will run from 8:40am - 9:30am. This session will be repeated on Tuesday 6th November 5:00pm - 6:00pm for those who cannot make the morning session.

Parent Online Safety Workshop

On Tuesday 6th November, from 8:40am the NSPCC will be in to run a parent workshop focused on online safety. This is an opportunity for parents to come along and learn about helping your children to stay safe online. Please arrive at the front reception to sign in and staff will accompany you to the hall for the session.

Parent Teacher Meetings

These meetings will be held on Tuesday 20th November and Wednesday 21st November. We will once again use our on-line sign up system and a link to this will be sent home closer to the date. Meetings will take place between 3:30pm - 5:45pm.
