Logan celebrates unity at Multifaith Breakfast 🕊️

The City of Logan recently hosted the inaugural Mayor of Logan’s Multifaith Breakfast, bringing together 300 community members to celebrate cultural diversity and unity.

Mayor Jon Raven emphasised the importance of faith in fostering a compassionate and inclusive city. The event featured keynote speakers and a panel discussion on supporting the most vulnerable citizens.

Ground breaks for new Flagstone Community Hub 🏡

Construction has officially begun on the $8 million Flagstone Community Hub, a vibrant new facility designed to keep the rapidly growing City of Logan connected.

Kids Makers Market are seeking stallholders!

The Kids Makers Market takes place once a year and is for local kids who want to make and sell their homemade products.

Expressions of interest are being sought from creative kids who want to run their own stall at the market and meet other like-minded kids.

If your kids love to make baked goods, clay products, plants, hair accessories or anything unique the organisers want to hear from you!

Caddies Community Centre is a not-for-profit organisation in Jimboomba that provides centre based social activities, mental health support, and low-cost groceries and clothing for the community.

Expressions of interest open: First Nations Advisory Group

QCOSS is establishing a First Nations Advisory Group to elevate the voices of First Nations Peoples and inform advocacy priorities.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals in Queensland who are interested in providing advice, making recommendations, and sharing culturally informed insights with QCOSS.

Seniors Digital Help Hubs

The Seniors digital guide (PDF 15 MB) is a handbook created by the Logan Youth Action Group to support seniors to get online.

The Logan Youth Action Group is now offering Digital Help Hubs at retirement villages, further supporting our seniors living in Logan. The hubs are delivered in partnership with Logan City Council Community Development and Logan Libraries.

Support for First Nations people with disabilities in Logan

Access Ed is a fantastic new program being offered by Carers QLD for First Nations people with disabilities, and their carers and families. It's a chance to drop by, have a cuppa and a yarn, and learn about the support services available to them in Logan. No appointments are required.

This program is proudly supported by Logan City Council.

When: Every second Monday of the month, anytime between 9am to midday from February to July 2025.

Funding Opportunities

Applications are now open for the Queensland Government’s 2024–2025 Kickstarter – Round 1 grant.

Grants of up to $300,000 (excl. GST) will be available for eligible programs, projects or events that focus on reducing crime, identifying and addressing the range of risks and needs for young people, repairing relationships with family and kin, and supporting a young person’s re-engagement with education, training, or employment.

Applications are now open for Creative Australia’s Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups.

Grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 are available for activities that benefit the arts sector and the wider public, including national and international audiences. Eligible projects include professional skills development, new work creation, practice-based research, creative development, touring, festivals, exhibitions, performances, and community engagement activities.

Applications close: 3pm AEST, 2 September 2025

Applications are now open for the Real School Grant Program funded by Real Insurance.

One school and/or school group/committee will receive $5,000. Submissions need to reflect a real desire to improve the quality of school resources and communities and must align to one or more of the Real Insurance company values: Health, Learning & Development, Information & Technology, and Community & Infrastructure.

Applications are now open for the Aurizon Community Giving Fund offering grants of up to $20,000 to eligible charities in communities we work and live in.

The Fund has helped over 650 charities with support for projects delivering benefits to local communities in the areas of health and wellbeing, community safety, environment and education.

Applications close: 5pm, 24 April 2025

Applications are now open for the Queensland Government’s Youth Development Partnership Fund program.

This initiative, a collaboration between the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Queensland Police Service, supports youth crime prevention projects through sport and recreation activities. It targets children and young people under 17, promoting both physical and mental health, with police actively involved in the program.

Applications are now open for the 100 Women - Investing in Charities that Empower Women and Girls grant round. 

At 100 Women, the mission is to advance the safety, health, education, and economic opportunities of women and girls. This year, grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to eligible and successful organisations. The level of funding varies each year based on memberships and donations. Please review the guidelines and selection criteria for 2025.
