Come in and take some seeds, grow your own food then donate seeds back to other library members. There has never been a better time to roll up your sleeves and get planting. Stay Safe OnlineOctober is Get Online Week and although many of us spend a lot of time online, we don’t all know how to keep ourselves safe. There are many ways that our online safety can be at risk and the ways scammers do this can be subtle. It is important for our safety and that of our families, that we keep up-to-date on the risks we face and the ways we identify and deal with them. The library will be hosting two events on online safety, so be sure to book your place: Staying Safe Online Managing Your Health Data on your iPhone or Apple Watch Access Historic British Newspapers with Find My PastDid you know you can access Historic British Newspapers, FREE of CHARGE, with your library membership? Over 200 titles have been digitised in a partnership between the British Library and Find My Past, with more being added. Three centuries of information, from 1710 to 1953 comprising 65 million articles are at your fingertips. Find out what was happening in the world the day you were born, or the day your grandparents were born, or what was happening during the Great Wars and other historic events, from a primary source of information. If you want to read them all, you can but it would take the average adult 106 years (without breaks of any sort), to read them! All you need is your current library card and be connected to the internet at your Casey Cardinia library – either on one of our PCs, or with your device connected to the library WiFi.
