There’s a lot happening here at the salon, and we’re excited to share all our latest news with you! From exciting new launches and fresh updates to a couple of very emotional goodbyes, it’s certainly a season of change. After many wonderful years, we’ll be saying a heartfelt farewell to two much-loved members of our salon family. Sandra is heading into a very well-deserved retirement, while Sarah is beginning a new chapter, slowing things down to enjoy more precious time with her family at home. While they’ll both be hugely missed by our team and clients alike, we couldn’t be happier for them both.

Alongside these changes, we’ve got plenty of exciting things to bring to you,  including the launch of the innovative new L’Oréal Keratin Alpha Sleek range, our new Acidic Grow collection, eco refill options to help make your haircare routine a little kinder to the planet, updated salon opening hours, and some exciting transformations happening within our beauty rooms.
As always, we’re evolving, growing and working hard to bring you the very best salon experience, and we can’t wait to share it all with you.

Happy Retirement to Sandra!

After an extraordinary 50 years at RJs, Sandra has made the heartfelt decision to retire. While it is a moment filled with mixed emotions, after five decades of dedication, friendship, and care, she feels the time is right to begin a new chapter.

Sandra wanted to share a personal message with you all:

"It hasn't been an easy decision, but after 50 years at RJs it's time for me to retire. I would like to thank all my lovely clients for their support and friendship over the years. I'm sorry I haven't been able to see you all face to face to tell you, but I hope to catch up with many more of you before I finish. I'm looking forward to having more time to spend with my lovely granddaughter, Billie. Thank you all."

Sandra joined Robert John on 22nd June 1976 as a 15-year-old school leaver. Trained by Bob himself, she worked alongside him for the next 41 years, building not only an incredible career but also lifelong friendships with colleagues and clients alike.

Through the years with Bob and Jenny, and more recently with Cat and Sam, Sandra has been a constant source of warmth, kindness, and unwavering care. Generations of clients have sat in her chair, sharing stories, milestones, and memories. To so many, she has become far more than a stylist – she has become a trusted friend.

Her loyalty, dedication, and genuine love for her clients have helped shape the salon into what it is today, and her impact will be felt for many years to come.

While we are incredibly sad to see Sandra leave, we are equally delighted for her as she begins a well-deserved retirement filled with family time, new adventures, and the opportunity to enjoy a slower pace of life.

Sandra's last day with us will be Wednesday 5th August, and we know many of you will want to join us in wishing her a happy and fulfilling retirement.

Thank you, Sandra, for everything. Your friendship, professionalism, and kindness have touched so many lives. The salon will not be the same without you, we will miss you more than you know ❤️

After 27 wonderful years, our lovely Sarah will be leaving!

After an incredible 27 years with the salon, the time has come for Sarah to begin an exciting new chapter as she moves on from her role with us.

While this is not an easy goodbye, it comes from a place of wanting to embrace a new chapter, creating more balance, spending quality time with her husband and their beloved Great Dane, exploring life in their camper van, and making space for the next generation of therapists to shine.

I have had the privilege of working alongside Sarah for 21 years, nine of those as her boss. Throughout that time, she has been one of the most honest, loyal, caring, and professional people I have ever known. If I ever needed a truthful answer, Sarah was always the person I could turn to, delivering it with kindness, courtesy, and genuine care.

Sarah has been so much more than a valued member of our team. She has been a mentor, a cheerleader, a friend, and an inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to work with her. Her warmth, professionalism, and dedication have touched the lives of countless clients and colleagues over the years.

Many of you will have shared appointments, conversations, laughter, and milestones with Sarah, and I know you will join us in thanking her for the wonderful contribution she has made to our salon family.

She is eternally grateful for every single client who has supported her, trusted her, and made her feel so cared for. The relationships built over the years are something she will always treasure.

Sarah, thank you for your unwavering loyalty, support, and friendship over the past 27 years. You leave behind an incredible legacy, and while we will miss you dearly, we wish you every happiness and success in the future.

Sarah will miss you all more than words can say, but carries with her so many beautiful memories.

From 10th August, our salon will be closed on Mondays. Following recent staffing changes and in line with both team availability and business needs, we have made the decision to adjust our opening hours.
We are currently working through rearranging existing Monday appointments, however if you have an appointment booked on a Monday after this date and haven’t yet heard from us, please do get in touch so we can help arrange a suitable alternative.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Our team members will still be here to look after you, just on slightly different days! Georgia, Evie and our beautician Lucy will now be in the salon on Wednesdays, while Lizzie will be moving to alternate Fridays.
