Airfares for the Sydney - Rarotonga route are also on sale now at Jetstar for travel commencing on 29 June, 2023. MAUKE CELEBRATE THEIR VIBRANT COMMUNITY AND CULTURE As part of Cook Islands Tourism's Mana Tiaki Programme, the Island of Mauke has completed its final two rounds of Te Ieie O te Orau for 2022. Te Koutu Turoto O Mauke recognised that Crafts specific to Mauke required strengthening therefore a Crafts Competition was introduced. The following categories were judged; Wooden, Rangaranga (weave), Special, and Youth. This gave the entire community an opportunity to showcase their skills that have been passed on through generations including the revival of traditional practices that may not be utilized regularly. Simultaneously individuals within the community were recognised for going above and beyond, these individuals have exhibited strong values within the Mana Tiaki principles; Akono I te Aorangi, Peu Maori and Tupuranga Tangata. MAINTAINING KIA ORANA CUSTOMER SERVICE The Kia Orana Customer Service Course offered through Cook Islands Tertiary Training Institute (CITTI) and supported by Cook Islands Tourism (CIT) has made great headway. Over 200 participants from Rarotonga, Aitutaki and Atiu have gone through this one day course across six months. A mixture of Government and private sector organisations were represented throughout the course deliveries. "Through our consistent research, our visitors have revealed that Customer Service has progressively continued to improve over the years. This highlights that this course contributes towards an area that had previously required strengthening" said Sustainable Tourism Manager, Sieni Tiraa. CITTI and CIT continue to build on their partnership to ensure that the right courses are being developed based on industry needs. To book your team in today please contact Taa Pera. A study published by Springer Link found that the appearance of positive face emojis in tourism-related Instagram posts raised more positive emotions than non-face emojis did. With non-faced emojis in tourism-related Instagram posts promoting more engagement (likes, shares, and comments) than face emoji posts do. Emojis can help to catch the attention of readers in a shorter period of time and help to create a digital message with nuances and depth, resembling a face-to-face conversation more closely.
