Promising a day packed with all the latest and greatest news and innovations in workers’ compensation and injury management, we can’t wait to see you there. In other news, we are pleased to announce WorkCover WA has introduced an in-house Prosecution function, which marks a huge step forward in our regulatory capabilities. Previously, once WorkCover WA determined a matter should proceed to prosecution, it would progress to the State Solicitor's Office. There, the evidence would be assessed, and a determination made as to whether there is a prima facie case with reasonable prospects of success. Following this, the necessary prosecution documents would be drafted, and prosecution would begin. As we have improved our data-matching processes and our capacity to detect non-compliance, managing prosecutions in-house is the natural next step in progression for our Compliance team. We look forward to continuing our work in partnership with the State Solicitor's Office, to optimise outcomes for the community. Read on to see what else we've been up to through September.
