Welcome back! DDD website traffic is on the increase and submissions are flying in, as education officials head back to their desks and classrooms to get Term 2 underway. It’s the ideal time to access the DDD Dashboard and start preparing your interventions for the months ahead – so don’t delay: submit your term-end data and log in to DDD today!

Highlights of the past few weeks included the DBE Lekgotla in Johannesburg, as well as the annual SchoolNet digital learning conference at Anton Lembede MST Academy in Durban, from 25-27 March, where DDD’s live demo of the dashboard attracted strong attention from the office of the KwaZulu-Natal MEC and other senior delegates. KwaZulu-Natal remains one of the fastest-growing adopters of DDD, and it was exciting to hear how officials in this and other provinces are increasingly using data insights to improve the impact of their interventions. We can’t wait to hear more, so if you have a data success story to share, please email our newsletter team today!

Ms Taylor explains that the insight gained from DDD’s Educator Information Report is – among other things – extremely useful when doing resource planning for one’s school.   Hailing from Johannesburg East, Mr Leso urges principals in the area to register all their educators and administrators on DDD, in order to access these insights.   After attending a Champion Principals workshop to learn about using DDD at school level, Ms Magagula says she believes the dashboard is a “very good venture”.

  WE’RE STREAMLINING
Simpler, faster views
As part of our ongoing dashboard enhancements, we have added EMIS codes into the Term to Date matrix table on the Term to Date dashboard page. This means that the Excel download automatically includes EMIS codes, making it easier to identify specific schools. To share your ideas for similar improvements, email the DDD Helpdesk or click on the Chatbot button (bottom right) on the website homepage.   As the DDD and EMIS teams continue to work with schools to help resolve any technical issues, there is some important background information that officials need to include with any queries they submit to the DDD Helpdesk. This includes, for example, screenshots to show the details of any error messages, info on the device and software that you’re using, as well as network/connective speed.

Based on detailed feedback from more than 1 500 education officials, we are refining the pages on each section of the dashboard to provide a simpler initial view of your data, which will help to speed up processing times. All the same information will still be accessible, but in a quick-to-view and easy-to-click way. Keep an eye on this space for updates.
