This email is being sent to those who support financial aid in Workday. Depending on your role, you may also receive emails in the coming weeks related to supporting student financials in Workday.

Welcome to Workday Student! While the system has been live now for a few days, we expect you have not had much need to investigate it yet.

We’ve put together some tips and tasks that will help you feel more comfortable as you start to take on financial aid tasks within Workday. Also check out the Financial Aid Administrators page on the Student Sunrise website, which is updated frequently with new information.

First week

• PowerFAIDS and Workday will begin sharing information in late February 2025, but most of your work will remain outside Workday until June. The information shared in February 2025 will be student demographic type information. Financial aid award information will not begin flowing between PowerFAIDS and Workday until June and July of 2025 (see below).

• If you previously changed your notification preferences in Workday, you may wish to review them to ensure the Custom Business Processes option is not set to Mute, so you will receive any emails related to business process steps you may need to complete.

• Review cohort training, as cohorts for the criteria-based financial aid cohorts are already being populated. Finanical aid SFS counselor cohorts based on Danforth PowerFAIDS will be populated beginning in June 2025.

• Review the Financial Aid and Workday reference guide for a refresher on the in-person instructor-led training.

• Brush up on your skills with these resources for generally getting started. Find these and more on workday.wustl.edu/student by choosing “I need help with… Getting Started.”

Ramp-up: June-July, 2025

Late June 2025: Information related to financial aid awards for MD years 2-4 begins flowing between PowerFAIDS and Workday.

Early July 2025: Information related to financial aid awards for all other students begins flowing between PowerFAIDS and Workday.

After information related to financial aid awards starts flowing between PowerFAIDS and Workday, use Workday to view students’ anticipated aid amounts, view disbursed financial aid within Student Financials, and refund extra money after student balances have been paid.

How do I get help with Workday Student?

Students, faculty, and staff can continue to get help with Workday Student during in-person or virtual office hours through May 9, 2025. 

You also can access step-by-step tutorials and other resources in the moment as you are working in the system from the Workday at WashU website.
