12 February 2026

Dear Residents,

Council staff have been out and about in the community upgrading assets to make your life easier and safer! As part of our Asset Renewal program, the refuge island on Arthur Street, Strathfield (outside Pilgram Park) has been updated to meet current standards and provide a sufficient refuge on the road from high-speed and high-volume traffic Council also added a prioritised pedestrian crossing and speed humps for increased pedestrian safety and improved access to the park.

You may have also noticed a new roundabout that is in the process of being installed at Chalmers Road and Barker Street, Strathfield, in response to concerns about driver safety. Check out the website for more traffic improvements and other projects in your area.

Next week is Lunar New Year and I will be at Homebush West on Wednesday 18 February to celebrate with Flemington Chamber of Commerce! Join us for a traditional lion dance to ward away bad spirits and bring blessings of wealth and prosperity to the area. See the website for full details.

If you need to contact me or have any questions, please do so by emailing me cr.bcai@strathfield.nsw.gov.au or ring our office on 9748 9999.
