Have your say on animal management local laws

Have your say on animal management local laws

We're proposing some changes to animal management local laws and inviting you to have your say.

The purpose of these changes is to meet community expectations, reduce red tape and improve safety. Some of the changes include:

  • removing some permit types
  • increase the penalties for high-risk offences
  • make animal noise nuisance laws clearer and easier to understand
  • update containment and enclosure requirements
  • help protect our koala population
  • align our laws with changes to State laws that have been made in recent years.

So if you own, work with or live near pets or animals, we encourage you to provide feedback on the proposed changes via our online survey. Your feedback can help shape the new laws. Complete the online survey today.
