Glasgow based musician Harry Gorski-Brown and French multidisciplinary artist-composer Annabelle Playe are in residence for Elephant you shake your sheep at Hexagone, Meylan, France this week. The duo will premiere their work at GMEM, Marseille on the 17 September followed by its UK premiere at Sonica Glasgow this September.

A Cryptic Commission supported by Diaphonique, Franco-British fund for contemporary music, in partnership with the SACEM, the Friends of the French Institute Trust, the British Council, the Institut français, the Institut français du Royaume-Uni, the Centre National de la Musique, Creative Scotland and the Salabert Fondation.

Kathy Hinde’s Earthquake Mass Re-Imagined is back on the road for the first time in 2024 with Bristol New Music. Other exciting artists on the line up include NikNak, Keeley Forsyth and Marie Vermeulin.

In a special Cryptic Nights double bill, we present two exciting artists! 
Aberdonian musician Mours’ performs I’ve Always Lived Beside Screens. Using emotive songs touching on themes from love to childhood - a captivating sonic landscape featuring cassette loops, synths, and ethereal vocals. Meanwhile, Glasgow-based artist Raincat presents The Invisible Hand, crafting sound sculptures from found objects and looper pedals that transcends into a shimmering cloud of meditation.

Cryptic @ Rewire Highlights 🇳🇱

Cathie Boyd and Fiona Haggerty had brilliant time at Rewire Festival in the Hague for the festivals 13th edition. A few of their highlights included Gazelle Twin, Plus44Kaligula, Martin Messier and the wonderful programming from iii for their Proximity Music exhibition.

A fantastic new sonic collaboration between Rae-Yen Song, previous Sonica artist Tommy Perman. Together, the duo have created three soundscapes as part of the current research exhibition and live programme life-bestowing cadaverous soooooooooooooooooooot - at CCA until 18 May. Not to be missed!

Andrey Chugunov @ Glasgow Project Room  

One of this year’s Sonica artists, Andrey Chugunov is exhibiting his new work to be contained, to be a container at Glasgow Project Room from 2 – 12 May. The exhibition takes the form of a total installation that combines technological sculpture, multichannel sound and video to create an immersive environment.

CCA Glasgow Third Eye Bar

Come and experience the grand opening of the CCA's Third Eye Bar and glorious terrace this Friday! Local artist Fraser Taylor has transformed the back room into a … stay curious…  Local partners include Tatenda Wines, Thomson Coffee, Green City Wholefoods, and Tennent Caledonian Breweries.

Tectonics Festival

Tectonics makes its return to Glasgow this 4 -5 May, boasting a spectacular line-up of both international and UK-based artists. Prepare to be enthralled by the diverse talents of performers such as Mariam Rezaei, Marc Yeats and Eiko Yamada.
