Division 11 Biggest Survey - here's what you told me!

I want to say a big thank you to everyone that completed Division 11s biggest ever survey.

I’ve been reading through every response, all 890, and I really appreciate the time and honesty you’ve shown. Your feedback will shape the work I do every day for our community.

You told me your top priorities are:
🛣️ Better roads and local traffic infrastructure
👮 Improved community safety
🚗 Better parking in Varsity Lakes and Robina
👍 Back-to-basics, common-sense representation

As a resident of Division 11, I too experience these issues. Your feedback has reinforced how important they are for families and residents right across Division 11.

You also shared some great news, 88% of respondents said Division 11s liveability was good to excellent.

Moving forward whether it’s pushing for road upgrades, improving safety in public spaces, or making it easier to find a park near your home, I’m here, working alongside you to get results that make a real difference.

Thank you again for sharing your ideas and being part of this conversation about our community’s future. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer Division 11, and I’m here with you every step of the way.

Kind regards

Dan 👍

Pause, reflect, remember

It was an honour to lay a wreath on behalf of the Division 11 community at this year’s Remembrance Day service, hosted by the Robina Mudgeeraba RSL Sub-branch.

Each year on 11 November, we pause to remember the servicemen and women who have served and sacrificed for our country, in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations around the world.

The Robina Mudgeeraba RSL Sub-branch did a tremendous job bringing our community together to honour those who have given so much in the name of peace and freedom.

Advocating for an increase to kerbside collection services

At this week’s Council meeting, I successfully moved an amendment, fully supported by all Councillors, to ensure that horizontal strata-titled properties (townhouses) are considered as part of Council’s ongoing review of bulky kerbside collection services.

Division 11 has a lot of horizontal strata communities, and I wanted to make sure their needs weren’t overlooked. While there are currently some operational challenges in servicing these property types, my amendment ensures city officers encourage future tenderers to consider methods for servicing these residents.

This change is an important step toward a fairer, more inclusive service for all residents♻️.

Robina Common Update

It was fantastic to be able to announce some of the upcoming projects for Robina common.

Building on the work we’ve been doing around this beautiful green space, I’m excited to share that work on the Robina Common Improvement Plan is progressing with projects around the precinct being rolled out.

This month, we are upgrading the lower carpark to make it safer and more accessible for everyone. These works are part of a broader effort to ensure Robina Common remains a welcoming, well-used space for families, sporting groups, and local residents.

It’s wonderful to see this plan taking shape, and I look forward to continuing to enhance one of our community’s favourite green spaces.

A reel win for our waterways

On Saturday 1 November, hundreds of keen anglers headed to Robina to take part in the City’s Pest Fishing Classic. I’m proud to support this fantastic environmental initiative, which helps protect our local waterways by removing invasive pest fish species.

This year, participants removed an impressive 571kgs of tilapia, carp and other pest species from our aquatic ecosystems, a great result for the health of our creeks and lakes.

Events like this make a real difference, and it’s wonderful to see so many community members getting involved to care for our environment. I look forward to proudly sponsoring this tremendous event again in 2026.
