Change to requirements for offal products from AustraliaMPI is amending the import conditions for offal imported under the following import health standards:
The import conditions for offal imported using these standards is changing from freezing to minus 18°C, to freezing to minus 20°C for at least 2 days. New Zealand is free from hydatids (Echinococcus granulosis), and this change in temperature is required to meet our reporting requirements to the World Organisation for Animal Health. We are able to discuss management of non-compliant shipments with additional measures on arrival in New Zealand if required. Please contact the Animal Imports team (animal.imports@mpi.govt.nz) if you would like to discuss this further. Sea freight queueFor this week, sea freight lodgement turnaround is estimated at 2 days. On Tuesday 4 June, morning, the total sea freight queue (includes Australian lodgements) stood at 109 lodgements and TET were processing lodgements due today at 8am. Airfreight queueFor the coming week, air freight lodgement turnaround is estimated 2 hours On Tuesday 4 June, morning, there were 79 airfreight lodgements in the queue for processing and TET were processing lodgements due today at 10am Australia queueOn Tuesday 4 June, morning, there were 34 Australian specific lodgements, the team is processing consignments due back today at 10am |
