23 North West employers receive the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award in their support to Defence

 

On Thursday 3 November the Engagement team delivered the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards at the Concorde Conference Centre.  The event saw 23 businesses from across the North West be presented their awards by Major General Marc Overton (ACDS RF&C) and the regions Single Service leads. Congratulations to all the recipients.

Lord-Lieutenants' and Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Awards 

The decision was taken in early 2021 to combine the ERS Silver Awards into the Lord – Lieutenants’ Awards.  This provided the team with an opportunity to bring together Employers, Reservists, Cadets, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and Veterans into one venue to share their collective support for Defence and to celebrate.

Employer Engagement news

The Engagement team, has fully engaged with employers, the Lord-Lieutenants’ and the Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man both prior to and since the UK lockdown restrictions were eased.  Engagement continues to be delivered both Face 2 Face and virtually according to the customer’s needs and the teams availability.

156 Reserve news

156 Regiment RLC deployed to Croatia on Ex SAVA STAR in September. 

The Regiment were working with Croatian forces conducting a dismounted infantry exercise and were joined by employers and Jan Cox from the NW RFCA.

Cumbria Army Cadet Force news

Cadets and cadet force adult volunteers from Cumbria ACF have just returned from a 12 day exercise in Antigua. They were guests of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force. During the visit, they participated in Antigua's Independence Day parade and much more.

Remembrance events

Tri-service Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers have been out in force to support the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in our North West area - thank you all.
