NEW LEARNINGAs we kick off 2025, we are pleased to announce the launch of our revised online training courses. All courses have been developed to deliver essential knowledge in line with the new legislation and assist you in the day-to-day operations and expectations of your role. Three updated courses are available now, for Claims Managers, Workplace Rehabilitation Providers and Insurance Brokers. The courses can be accessed for free through our online education portal. A certificate will be issued upon completion of course requirements. NEW OPPORTUNITIESWorkCover WA is sponsoring two scholarships for WA healthcare professionals to attend the new post-graduate course Compensable Health and Medicine, developed by Monash University in partnership with the Personal Injury Education Foundation. The ten-week course is suitable for GPs, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists and other allied health professionals, and launches in March 2025. To express your interest, please send a one-page letter outlining your qualifications and interest in the course to rebecca.harris@workcover.wa.gov.au by 5pm Friday 24 January 2025. NEW RESOURCESFrom diagnosis and assessment to liaising with other members of the treating team, treating medical practitioners play a central role in assisting injured workers following a work injury, and guiding their recovery. Our new publication Workers Compensation and Injury Management: A Guide for Treating Medical Practitioners has been designed to assist treating medical practitioners in performing this vital role to optimise patient health outcomes. Access the Guide online now via the WorkCover WA website. Cancellation Guidelines WorkCover WA's new Policy Coverage and Cancellation Guidelines inform and guide employers, insurers and insurance brokers on the process of requesting approval to cancel a policy, or cancel employer coverage where a joint policy holder arrangement exists.
