Senior School NoticesTERM 1 WEEK 8
From the Head of Senior School
Proms Concert at the QuarryFor many of our Music students, the Proms Concert at the Quarry on Sunday was their first time performing at this event after previous years' cancellations. The conditions were perfect and so were the performances as students entertained a capacity audience well into the night. Thank you to all the students and staff involved in this event – it was a spectacular celebration of Music at PLC.
Year 11 Dinner DanceWhat a fabulous night for our Year 11 students at their Dinner Dance at Claremont Football Club. Everyone had a terrific time dancing; and thank you to PLC parents and staff for putting on such a wonderful event for our students.
VapingWith the prevalence of discussions in the media regarding vaping, I would like to take this opportunity to remind our students and community of our policies relating to vaping. Vaping is a risk-taking behaviour that is not acceptable and is prohibited at PLC. As mentioned in previous communications, any student who is caught vaping on school grounds will be required to meet with myself and the Principal. At a minimum, vaping on school grounds will result in a school suspension. With regards to risk-taking behaviours, our approach will
always be to be proactive, to seek to understand and to avoid punitive measures. Vaping is a serious issue though, and one that, as a community, we need to work together to support young people to better understand the implications and consequences (to their health in particular) of engaging in such behaviour. We have preventative measures in place to deter students from vaping and for the last few years we have had vaping detectors installed in some bathrooms. We also implement educational programmes that focus on healthy decision-making and the harmful effects of vaping on young people. If any family members are seeking additional information, you may find the following episode on SchoolTV of interest.
Additionally, if you have any concerns about your child, please don’t hesitate to contact myself, Ms Begbie, or our school psychologists. We are all here to support in any way we can. Miss Rebecca Watts

New Bus Service - Cottesloe PM We are still noticing there are many students continuing to walk across Stirling Highway into Cottesloe after school. Our new Cottesloe after school bus service is the safest way for students to reach the western side of Stirling Hway and the Cottesloe train station. We strongly encourage students to use it.
Accessing Parent Contact Lists on the PLC AppThe PLC App will now be the only place to access your Parent Contact Lists. Due to security reasons, the Parent Contact Lists will no longer be emailed to parents, but will now only be accessible via the PLC App. To view your Parent Contact List, please click the ‘Key Contacts’ tile, then scroll to ‘Parent Contact List’ and click on your daughter/s’ name. You will only be able to access the Parent Contact List for your daughter/s’ year group. If you do not wish to have your details disclosed on the Parent Contact List, our procedure remains the same. We also request that you keep us up-to-date with your contact details by advising our Admissions Team of any changes. We have included a copy of Principal, Cate Begbie’s Guidelines for Use of Parent Contact Lists here. We ask that you please read the guidelines carefully before using the Parent Contact List.
