This endowed chair is supported by a generous gift from the Alberta Women’s Health Foundation. Thank you to Sue Ross: Cavarzan Chair in Women’s Health Research 2012-2022 On behalf of WCHRI, I would like to express my gratitude to Sue Ross for her extraordinary contribution to advancing women’s health research as the Cavarzan Chair from 2012-2022. Sue was the inaugural chair, a role established with a generous commitment from the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, now representing the Alberta Women’s Health Foundation, and has been an active WCHRI ambassador for women’s health research. Sue and her team worked together, and collaboratively with other colleagues, to contribute new knowledge in women’s health with a focus on menopause and Indigenous women’s wellness. We wish Sue all the best in her retirement and are pleased that she will continue her research as professor emeritus! - Sandra Davidge, Executive Director Grants WCHRI Research Day abstract submission deadline is fast approaching! WCHRI’s annual Research Day is our time to celebrate successes and achievements—make sure to register! This year's deadline for abstract submissions is September 8 at 4 p.m. Pre-Announcement: Healthy Youth catalyst grants As part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Policy, the Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health is launching a Healthy Youth Initiative. As part of the first phase of this initiative, Healthy Youth catalyst grants will launch in summer 2022 to support preliminary research activities. The Healthy Youth Initiative grants aim to fund research whose findings promote the health and wellness of youth, supporting them to achieve their full potential. WCHRI offers education and consultation to our members seeking support in incorporating feasible and ethically responsible KT into their research projects.
