Lifesaving 24 Hour Row Building Mental Fitness
Thousands of Australians are preparing to embark on the Gotcha4Life 24 Hour Row for mental fitness by keeping their rowing machines moving for 24 hours at surf clubs, gyms and schools.
Kicking off at 12pm AEST on Saturday 9th Sept and finishes 12pm AEST Sunday 10th Sept on World Suicide Prevention Day, participants take turns for the entire 24-hour period to keep their team’s rowing machine running non-stop to raise funds for lifesaving mental fitness programs which support their communities.

SLSNSW Life Membership
Surf Life Saving New South Wales (SLSNSW) is inviting nominations for members to be recommended for elevation to Life Membership of SLSNSW. SLSNSW Life Membership recognises those individual members who voluntary rendered a distinguished, sustained and conspicuous service to SLSNSW.
Once the nominee has completed the nomination form:
- The nomination form must be sent to the nominee’s Club for endorsement.
- Once endorsed by their Club, the Club will forward the endorsed nomination to the nominee’s Branch.
- Once endorsed by the nominee’s Branch, the Branch will forward it to the CEO, Surf Life Saving NSW at Head Office.
- Nominations (endorsed by Club/Branch) should be forwarded to:

SLSA Honours
The nomination process for the SLSA Honours System has been updated. The SLSA Honours include Life Membership, Significant Service Award (Presidents Award), Sustained Service Certificate, and the International Lifesaving Federation Citation of Merit. Nominations will be submitted online via Jotform, and nominations will be accepted by SLSA twice each calendar year in January and July.
CLEG Deadline Extension
SLSNSW are extending the deadline for the 2023 Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant to 17 September. Log into the online store asap so your club doesn't miss out. Any issues with access please contact Karle Codd or call 9471 8000.
NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program
The NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program is opening soon. The program assists NSW Surf Life Saving clubs to develop facilities that will enable increased facility usage, improve safety and increase participation in Surf Life Saving.
Clubs and Branches looking to apply are encouraged to commence gathering required approvals and documentation ASAP. As soon as the new guidelines are released, we will distribute the details.

If you are passionate about representing youth member views, needs, concerns, values, and ideas by engaging youth members to shape the future of the organisation for the next generation this might be for you. Check out the YWG terms of reference and guidelines to see if this is right for you.

Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

The Surf Life Saving Foundation has made fundraising for Clubs a whole lot easier! Your club can have its own dedicated Lottery web landing page and receive 50% commission on all tickets sold through it. 2023-24 Volunteer Grants
The Australian Government Volunteer Grants 2023-24 program has commenced opening for Expressions Of Interest (EOIs), with closing dates throughout August and September 2023.
This program offers grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 to support the efforts of volunteers.

Do you have Members looking for Work on the Beach? The Australian Lifeguard Service is on the hunt for new professional lifeguards to patrol NSW beaches. All the training they need is provided to get started. Forward the application link now because recruitment is now open and training begins in September.
Lifeguard Supervisor Roles Available
The Australian Lifeguard Service is currently hiring for Lifeguard Supervisor roles in Shoalhaven and Kempsey-Bellingen-Nambucca.
A Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the lifeguard service in their specified Local Government Area (LGA) meets, or exceeds the obligations outlined in the contract. The Lifeguard Supervisor is also responsible for providing mentoring and guidance to Lifeguards in their catchment throughout the season.
