QLDC Winter Road Report - 23 September 2023Morning greetings Queenstown Lakes, I'm sure many of us are pleased to see a calming of the storms for Saturday. The regions forecast is for a mostly cloudy day with isolated showers, clearing to fine in the evening. A big shout out to all those who have been working around the clock to support our communities and the crews who have helped keep the traffic moving - you are awesome 😍. Thanks to those who have lent a helping hand, checked in on a friend or neighbour and kept spirits up with a kind word. It makes a difference. Let's get into this morning's conditions as we continue on the road to recovery.:
Drive safely and slowly and give yourself some extra travel time as the clean up continues. Some roads still may have minor surface flooding areas, washouts and minor slips affecting them. Please continue to find up to date information throughout the day for weather affected roads on our QLDC website here along with live updates posted via our Facebook page. Remember if you spot any issues or hazardous conditions on a road, please report it to QLDC by phoning 03 441 0499. Something a little lighter to wrap up today's report. What do you call a snowman without a carrot? Be safe and keep being kind to one another, 🌄
