To My Fellow Arrowmen,
My name is Samuel Whitesell, and I have the honor to serve as your Lodge Chief for 2026. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout my Scouting journey, and I want to thank you for placing your trust in me to help lead our lodge this year. I’m truly excited to see what 2026 has in store for us, and I have full confidence in our Lodge Executive Committee’s dedication and leadership as we work together to make this a meaningful and successful year for all our members.
As we look ahead, please mark your calendars for our biggest lodge event of the year, the sectional conclave. This is an event where all of the scouts from 6 different lodges will gather at camp Durant for a weekend. Think of it like a mini jamboree! Keeping your membership current is important to the Order of the Arrow at both the local and national levels. Your annual membership helps support Lodge programs that carry on the traditions of camping, service, fellowship, and leadership that we have developed for many years. Maintaining your membership also helps you stay informed about Lodge events and opportunities throughout the upcoming year that you don’t want to miss. Don’t forget that you must be a registered member of a scout unit in order to stay active in the Order of the Arrow.
SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: POLAR CUB DAY CAMP
My Fellow Arrowmen, The Old North State Council has requested the presence of the OA Service Corps at the Polar Cub Day event at Cherokee Scout Reservation. This is a one-day event on January 17th. The section conclave is an annual activity (prior to 1972 known as an Area OA Conference) involving the six lodges in Section E8 (Formerly SR-7B). Each conclave is led by section youth officers elected from among the member lodges at the previous year’s conclave, and the event itself is prepared in cooperation with various other lodge officers, and with one lodge serving as the “service lodge”.
The E8 Section Conclave is a gathering of over 1200 Arrowmen that occurs once a year in April at a Boy Scout camp in our Section. This years conclave will be held on April 17-19, 2026 at Camp Durant. In short, its a great weekend of fun, training, and fellowship!
NOAC 2027

NOAC 2027 (National Order of the Arrow Conference) is happening July 26-31, 2027, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) for thousands of Arrowmen (OA members) for training, activities, stadium shows, and fellowship. This major Scouting event features college dorm living, leadership training, and national camaraderie, with registration details coming soon!
