Senior School NoticesTerm 2 Week 4Dear valued member of the PLC community, National Boarding WeekThis week is National Boarding Week and our Boarding House Prefects have ensured this week has been jam-packed with fun activities. The activities have included face painting, a petting zoo, quizzes, a netball game between our boarders and Prefect team, wearing pink ribbons and boots to School (as pictured), and will finish with a live music Dance Party in the Quad tomorrow. Our boarding students will also attend the 2023 Boarders' Ball at Scotch College next week. All Years 11 and 12 boarders are welcome to attend and bring a partner with them, while dressing to the theme of; Dress as the First Letter of Your Name. The Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA) sets a theme each year for National Boarding Week. For 2023, the theme is A Patchwork of Boarding, which focusses on 'something that is composed of many different elements'. Students from across Australia and the world build a diverse PLC boarding community, which is what makes each and every boarder so special and unique. Our clever boarders have created and submitted a short video to represent the Patchwork of places our boarders come from in the ABSA video competition. The school with the most liked video will win a prize. Being in nature, away from usual routines and comforts, allowed students to challenge themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. Students hiked through trails, learned wilderness skills and explored Wellington Dam via kayak. Well done to all students who embraced this opportunty with such positivity.
