KATY KIRBY RELEASES ‘BLUE RASPBERRY’ (DELUXE) TODAY

Today Katy Kirby is releasing the deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed album ‘Blue Raspberry’ which features two additional tracks, “Headlights” and “Naperville”, which harness her tongue-in-cheek turns of phrase, wall-of-sound-level distortion and contemplations on queer desire.; listen to it HERE. To mark the deluxe album’s release, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has launched Kirby’s #LateShowMeMusic performance of “Hand to Hand” today as well. Directed by Hannah Welever and shot in black and white at the same church her video for the track “Table” was filmed, watch Katy and her band tenderly perform the track below.

Released in January of this year, ‘Blue Raspberry’ received praise from Pitchfork, Stereogum, Paste, NPR, No Depression, Uproxx, FLOOD and more, with the Associated Press explaining that “she savors bits and pieces of the relationship in which she realized her queerness … lyrics are carefully crafted to highlight the little things her partner does in her appearance to impress, something that women recognize in other women.” Later this month Kirby will head out on the road with Mei Semones on Eastern and Midwest run including shows in Boston, Toronto, St. Louis and more.
