Council for the Ageing - Creating New Opportunities for Women Over 50

The increasing cost of living is compelling many people to enter or return to the workforce, even those who would have otherwise been on the brink of retirement. We know that entering or re-entering the workforce can be a challenge for many of us however, women over the age of 50 face additional challenges when entering the workforce, such as age discrimination, limited training opportunities, and low self-confidence.

Fortunately, The Council for the Ageing (COTA) is revolutionizing the narrative for older women entering the workforce with their program, Women Working Together. This program pairs women with peer mentors who offer guidance, build confidence, tap into networks, and provide useful tips and tricks to navigate the workforce.

Styling Up with Confidence

How you look and dress can have a significant impact on how potential employers perceive you. However, financial constraints when searching for employment can make it hard to find the right outfit, or 'look'. It's also often a struggle to interpret dress codes and make sure our professional attire for interviews is appropriate.

Styling Up with Confidence, a project developed by Springvale Learning and Activity Centre, aims to assist people in making a great first impression.
