I also encourage you to sign up for  Community Conversations, as well as Leadership Day.  Mark your calendars for the Critical Conversations Conference: Addressing Racial Justice in America, March 24-25! Additional campus highlights include the Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Gathering today at 7:00 p.m. in the Murray Function Room, and the Living in Color Musical Showcase sponsored by the Arts Council.

The Boston College Forum on Racial Justice presents: Critical Conversations and Student Voices Addressing Racial
Justice in America

 

Boston College will be hosting a Forum on Racial Justice sponsored student conference on March 24 – 25, 2023. This will be a day and a half student-led, in-person conference designed to provide space for discussion and reflection on the national effects of racial injustice.

Francis X. Clooney, S.J., is the Parkman Professor of Divinity and Professor of Comparative Theology at Harvard Divinity School. He taught at Boston College from 1984 until 2005. He is generally recognized as the father of the contemporary field of comparative theology and he has published numerous books in the area of Hindu-Christian comparative theology.

LGBTI persons have historically been discriminated against based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression and continue to be victims of discrimination and violence; this situation has a critical impact in terms of human rights that international and regional instruments have protected. The Inter-American System on Human Rights has made significant advances to guarantee this vulnerable population's rights; however, there are still crucial challenges to undertake

 Flavia Piovesan, Former Vice-President of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, will be addressing the challenges and the advances of the Inter-American System on Human Rights.
