Junior School Notices

TERM 1 WEEK 6

From the Head of Junior School

Dear valued member of the PLC community,

Parent–Teacher Interviews

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Parent–Teacher Interview evening on Tuesday. It was great to see so many parents attend and hear such positive comments following your meetings with our dedicated teaching staff. A close partnership with our parents is vital to ensure we deliver the very best learning experiences for your daughter/s. Knowing your child/children, and how we can support their learning in the classroom and at home will enable us to achieve maximum growth. If you were unable to make the interview evening, we encourage all parents to contact their child’s teacher directly and make a time to come in.

Learning Enrichment and Gifted and Talented Meetings

Further to the classroom-based meetings, our Learning Enrichment and Gifted and Talented teachers will be contacting some parents for a further meeting about the learning needs of their daughter. Additional meeting times will be communicated directly to specific parents.

IWD Breakfast

Yesterday, we celebrated International Women's Day with a special celebration on the Quad.

During this event, our students, families, and staff heard from two inspiring Old Collegians, Eliza Reily (2016) and Emma Barrett (2021), who shared their journeys of breaking into a male-dominated field and challenging the status quo.

Year 4 OEP

This morning we were excited to wave our Year 4 students off on their Outdoor Education Programme to Lake Leschenaultia. We can only imagine how excited our Year 4 girls are to be sleeping in their tents tonight. We look forward to hearing about their adventures when they return tomorrow.

Cyber Safety Information Session for Parents

Protecting children in their digital worlds is an ever-evolving task for Australian families. Now more than ever parents are looking for guidance on how to manage screen time and navigate the world of games and social media.

We are pleased to help our parent community by offering a crucial and engaging education session with ySafe, Australia’s leading provider of cyber safety education.

  • Date: Wednesday 29 March
  • Time: 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm
  • Venue: Auditorium (Senior School)

This practical, strategy-rich session will cover the most important points that all families need to know about online safety, covering key information about social media and gaming, screen time recommendations and step-by-step instructions on how to set up a cyber-safe home for children of all ages.

If you’ve ever struggled with getting your children off their games and into bed, worried about the content of the games that they are playing, or felt concerned that your child was spending too much time in the digital world, this workshop is for you!
