NEERO 2023:

Acceptances are out!

NEERO received more than 120 roundtable, paper, poster, and symposium submissions for the NEERO 2023 Conference; this was an increase compared to last year. Submissions were received from 11 states and 2 countries. Submissions were authored by education researchers, faculty, K12 practitioners, graduate students, and undergraduate students. We continue to see a trend toward an even split between papers and research-in-progress roundtables. We received a significant increase in the number of proposals in the Diversity & Sociocultural Studies strand, which is a welcome sign given this year's conference theme, Practicing Impactful Education Research Toward Truth, Equity, and Accountability.

And, a huge thank you to the many of you who have volunteered your time to review the NEERO 2023 submissions!

Decisions were sent via OpenConf to contact authors. If you have not received a decision on a submission, please contact NEERO at neero.confereence@gmail.com

Conference Information

NEERO 2023 Conference “Practicing Impactful Education Research Toward Truth, Equity, and Accountability”

As a global community, we find ourselves navigating a field that is open to some and closed to others, a field that defines itself by peer-reviewed research, yet where policy makers often make decisions outside of this process. As we reimagine the world post-COVID-19, we find many research questions still waiting for us and ready to be reenvisioned. Institutionalized and systemic racism, climate change, physical and mental health access, and social and economic disparities continue to manifest in and out of education. As researchers and practitioners, activists and policy makers, students and teachers, NEERO calls on each of us to rise up and leverage our expertise to share, collaborate, and learn through educational research.

A vital aspect to NEERO is providing a forum for novice and expert researchers, students, professors, policy makers, teachers, consultants, and activists to come together to share research and engage in critical dialogue. We invite undergraduate students, graduate students, practitioners, institutional researchers, faculty, policy makers, community organizers, and activists to submit proposals for the NEERO 2023 Annual Meeting.

NEERO 2023:  Opportunities to Get Involved

Are you interested in becoming more involved with NEERO?

  • Consider serving on the NEERO Board. Board members graciously volunteer their time and expertise to design and oversee the annual conference. Board members are expected to attend approx. six meetings per year, register for and attend the annual conference, and complete role-specific duties (such as organizing conference sessions, engaging current members and building the membership across New England).
  • Consider joining or presenting via the NEERO Circles Committee. This Committee organizes several virtual events over the year with opportunities for members to present their work, discuss problems of practice and research, offer ideas and tips on publishing, and other special topics of interest to NEERO members.
  • Consider joining a NEERO Committee. NEERO is continually interested in building our social, graduate student, and communications committees. Let us know if you can give some time to engage and expand our NEERO community in these ways!
