The affordability crisis across Alberta and Canada, including escalating costs of living, continues to negatively impact health, wellbeing, and quality of life. Many sectors are taking action on this critical issue. This year’s Forum will focus on intersectoral opportunities for action and upstream interventions to support financial wellbeing across populations and settings.

At this interactive virtual event, plan to engage with people from across Canada working in different areas of financial wellbeing. Practitioners, decision-makers, policy professionals, industry professionals, students, and researchers are welcome.

New Publication: Patterns of Support for Alcohol Reduction Policies

A new study led by Dr. Candace Nykiforuk (CHC Scientific Director and Healthy Municipalities and Workplace Research Thematic Area Lead) examined trends and patterns of support for types of alcohol reduction policies among Alberta policy influencers and the general public between 2016-2021. Through the analysis it was found that while overall policy support was generally high in both groups for all types of policies except taxation-based options, there were variations in support by sociodemographic characteristics.
