Practitioners' Day: October 22, 2025

Challenging balance exercise to improve balance and prevent falls

Join us on Wednesday, October 22 from 1:00-3:00 pm (MST) when Dr. Melanie Farlie will share insights from the development of the Balance Intensity Scale - a tool designed both for individuals to self-monitor the intensity of their balance exercises and for those supervising programs, such as health professionals and community exercise leaders.

The value of social supports in connection to physical activity, from research to practice with older adults.

Join us on Thursday, November 20 from 10:00-11:00 am (MST) as we learn about a University of Calgary research project that explores how fitness professionals and fitness class leaders can support older adults in physical activity participation through social support strategies.
