Dear BC Students:

We are excited to welcome you back to campus in the upcoming week.  As you look over the Weeks of Welcome schedule, we wanted to remind you that each incoming undergraduate student will be participating in the CURA series of events. Friday and Saturday will focus on diversity and inclusion training and Sunday, all students will engage in Bystander Training. These workshops are required for all students and logistics/location information will be communicated to you through your Resident Assistant (for residential students) or WoW volunteer (for commuting students).  A full schedule/room assignment list can also be found in the Guidebook App.

Course Due Dates

All courses are open and are due on Monday, August 29.

Course Descriptions

Alcohol & Other Drugs
Whether you drink or not, this course will empower you to make well-informed decisions about alcohol and help you to reflect on and consider college drinking related issues. This 20-30 minute module will help you understand the impacts of alcohol and other drugs.

Mental Well-Being
This course equips students with essential skills and information to navigate the stressors and emotional challenges associated with college life. The 45-minute module helps learners practice self-care strategies, recognize when they or their peers are in distress, and take action to find additional support.

Voices for Change – Identities and Inclusion
In this module, we’ll think about our own identities and the ways society treats people based on their different identities. We’ll then consider how we can each play a role in making our communities inclusive and welcoming for everyone.

Voices for Change – Consent
This online interactive course provides information about the important issue of sexual violence.  It includes information about relationships and consent, as well as information on sexual assault and prevention. This is not an over-simplified, lecture, it is a thoughtful and educational program for adults committed to thinking about their life choices.

For questions or additional information related to these requirements contact bcsa@bc.edu.
