A Message from the Dean of Students

Dear parents, guardians, and family members,

Geneseo has wrapped up another academic year, and I feel very grateful for the part each person played in making it a success. No one anticipated another pandemic year. But everyone in the campus community, as they so often do, supported each other and demonstrated a resilience that should make every student proud to be a Geneseo Knight.

I want to congratulate our graduating seniors on their many accomplishments, especially under the conditions they faced. (Those who are interested can watch videos of the morning and afternoon commencement ceremonies online.) All of us at Geneseo wish our seniors good luck on their next steps, be they employment, travel, graduate school, or just life’s next adventure.

If you’d like more news about the College, you can subscribe to the monthly community edition of Geneseo’s e-newsletter One College Circle or become a fan of Geneseo’s Facebook page or other social media platforms. And as always, if you have any questions or concerns, you can feel free to contact me or the Center for Community staff. We’re more than happy to assist you.

I hope you are all well. My best wishes to you for a healthy and productive summer.

Spring Athletics Wrap-up

championship softball team

All six SUNY Geneseo spring athletic programs (men’s and women’s lacrosse, women’s tennis, softball, and men’s and women’s track and field) qualified for State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) postseason play, with the men’s and women’s track and field and softball teams each winning SUNYAC Championships. The three conference titles helped the Knights clinch their sixth consecutive SUNYAC Commissioner’s Cup. The softball team earned an automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament and hosted an NCAA Regional for the first time, while the women’s lacrosse team garnered an at-large bid to the tournament, advancing to the second round.
