Senior School NoticesTERM 4 WEEK 1Dear valued member of the PLC community, Welcome back to all students and a special welcome to our new students who have started with us this term. This week, the whole school has been involved in a final farewell of the Class of 2022 with our House Lunches, Final Assembly, and our Valedictory Service and Dinner tonight. Many thanks to all the staff involved in organising these important rites of passage for our wonderful Year 12s. This week, our Year 10 students have officially become Year 11 students, and our Year 11 students are embarking on their final year as they have now entered Year 12. Both of these cohorts have been involved in an exciting programme this week to prepare them for their new courses. This has included study skills workshops, Zumba, sound meditation, academic information, and a special guest speaker, Hayley Miller, Captain of the Dockers AFLW team. Later this term, we will be holding Parent Information Evenings for both groups and more information will be sent directly to these parents and guardians. House LunchesYesterday's House Lunches were a wonderful way to wish the Year 12s all the best for the future and thank all those who contributed to House success over the past year. Each House does it a little differently but the heartfelt speeches, words of wisdom, love, and generosity to each and every Year 12 student is wonderful to witness. Year 12 Final AssemblyThere were 145 heartfelt comments spoken yesterday about each and every Year 12 student at the Year 12 Final Assembly as we came together to celebrate the Class of 2022. This year, those closest to each student were given the opportunity to contribute and the kindest and most inspiring words were spoken of each student – a true reflection of this incredible cohort. I would also like to apologise for our Final Assembly running over time. We will review our processes to ensure parents are informed of any potential impact to the end of the school day and will ensure that our events run to schedule. Thank you for your understanding. Term 4 Staffing UpdatesMs Nat Medhurst has decided not to return to fulltime employment after Parental Leave. We thank Nat for her contribution and wish her the very best in the future. We have been fortunate to have Mr Sam Maxwell as the Acting Head of Sport. We appreciate his leadership in this role and his contribution to the development of a new strategic plan for sport. The sports strategy is set to be finalised before the end of the year when more information will be shared with the community. This term, we welcome back Mr Greg Williams from Long Service Leave and Ms Pia Bennet from Parental Leave. We also warmly welcome Ms Fran Hannington as Weekend Co-ordinator in the Boarding House.
