Dear Residents
It's been so pleasing to see our Council outdoor team trimming our trees. They are one of the largest assets we care for, and this program was well and truly overdue. Preserving and maintaining our tree population is crucial. Initiatives such as tree trimming programs and appropriate urban planning can help ensure the long-term health and sustainability of the urban forest, further enhancing the liveability of our community.
Congratulations to our local winners at the 2023 Inner West Business Awards last week. We had two overall winners in the below categories:
- Best Café which was awarded to Quatre Cafe at Cave Road, Strathfield
- Best New Business which was awarded to Ultra Dance Academy in Homebush
Well done to all 36 businesses who took part in this year’s Awards and for providing quality products and services. We look forward to working together to promote all businesses in our Local Government Area.
I enjoyed a delightful afternoon at Strathfield Library in Homebush last week and met the Craft and Cuppas group. What a great afternoon of laughter, fun and learning different skills from each other. If you are interested in taking part, no booking is required, just show up with your handcrafts and join in on the fun.

National Road Safety Week
Strathfield Council is proud to support National Road Safety Week by continuing our commitment to creating safer streets for our community. An example of this is the recently improved Homebush West Car Park which has increased safety for both pedestrians and motorists. Take the pledge and learn more about how you can do your part to keep our roads safe.

What’s great about neighbourhoods in Strathfield Council? The largest social research project in Australian history is again underway with the 2023 Australian Liveability Census and our Council is a proud partner. It takes 15 minutes to complete this survey and have our community’s perspective represented in a national forum.
