The program is available Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and provides a safe and welcoming environment where our NDIS clients can receive support from a qualified mental health professional without any judgement. Please call to make an appointment or drop in. When: Monday to Thursday 9am to 7pm Are you a senior or carer looking to build new friendships?Chatty Café is a monthly social meet up for seniors and carers living in Logan. It is an opportunity to have a cuppa, chat and connect with members of the community. Seniors who are socially connected have a stronger sense of belonging which we’ve seen translate into better physical, mental, and emotional health. Join Phil Hopes from Hopes in Motion for a morning of FREE seated or standing Tai Chi, meet new people and have some fun! Mindful Movements is a Healthy Ageing Hub event, empowering older people to confidently manager their own health and wellbeing in the community. You will need a water bottle, small towel and wear nice comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. When: every Tuesday 9.30am Fun & Fit Over 50!Fun & Fit Over 50 will bring you a fun movement program and social opportunity aiming to help improve your mobility, strength and coordination. Fun & Fit over 50 is a Healthy Ageing Hub event, supporting improved health outcomes for older people. Join Michelle Gibb, Nurse Practitioner from Wound Specialists to find out how to look after your skin and the important benefits of wound management, where to get help and how vital it is for recovery to look after any injuries big or small. When: Wednesday 25 September 10:30am to 2:30pm NFL Flag Come and Try DayNFL Flag Come & Try Days allows kids and parents to be exposed to Flag Football for the first time and gain a feel for the sport. The Come & Try Days feature specialist coaching where kids can participate in a series of drills and activities to learn more about the sport. These sessions are high energy and exciting day for all involved. No previous experience is required, and equipment will be supplied on the day. When: Saturday 28 September 9am to 12pm External Funding OpportunitiesThe World Mental Health Day Community Fund, a new multi-region mental health and well-being focused community fund, has recently been launched by ChangeX, the community engagement platform, and Paramount Global. The fund will support communities to start or expand projects that positively impact mental health and well-being in 10 countries, including Australia. Communities can apply for funding up to $2,000 USD to encourage action to commence on World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2024. Applications close: 22 September 2024 Applications are now open for Round 2 of the NAB Foundation’s Community Grants Program. The Community Grants program focuses on local projects that help communities withstand and recover from natural disasters. Grants are up to $25,000 and can be used for the following initiatives:
Applications close: 30 September 2024 Applications are now open for the 2024 Landcare Australia Community Grants, with funding up to $20,000 available for projects. This grant program aims to support community environmental groups to deliver priority issues, and may include educational workshops, restoring essential wildlife habitat, shelterbelts and fences, protecting our waterways, managing weeds and feral animals, working with Traditional Owners and First Nations organisations, hosting local community workshops, or purchasing plants and equipment, creating signage, amongst other landcare activities. Applications close: Friday 20 September 2024 Applications are now open for the Queensland Government Fair Play Vouchers. When a round is open, parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $200 for their child, which can be used towards sport and active recreation membership, registration or participation fees with a registered activity provider. There is a limit of 1 voucher per child per financial year.
