Congratulations to the 44 most recent winners of rare items in our ongoing Rare Item Raffle series! You can find a list of items raffled and winners of each item on our Contest Page.

We very much appreciate the efforts of all 161 contestants. You all did an amazing job of helping us get the word out about our games, keeping us informed of important happenings, and creating beautiful images that we will be adding to our Custom Loonacy site soon. We hope you had fun along the way, and if you didn't win this time, there are still two more quarterly raffles to go!

The next raffle will start on July 16th, and we have some exciting new prizes for this next round. If you have friends who love our games, please tell them about the raffle!

We would also like to take a moment to thank three particular participants who went above and beyond in their creativity to bring us all a bit of fun. First, Alex Ottenstein turned his real-life trip to Alaska and his memories of a book he read in high school into an exciting Parsely adventure called Fifty Miles from Fairbanks that was enjoyed by many in the Looney Labs Chatter group.

Next, Jonathan Baker (who has also been running the Homeworlds tournaments and YouTube exhibition games) added to the Parsely fun with a comedic and exciting romp through King Keith's Castle. This time, we played the game in a new Parsely Facebook group. For those who are intrigued, please join us in the next adventure, which Alex has planned to start a week or two from now in the Starship Captains group. Thank you to Alex and Jonathan for the Parsely fun!

Finally, Joel Raffee created a hilarious video recounting his tales of chasing down an old video game called Icebreaker (which was designed by Andy back when he was still a programmer). WARNING: This video is absolutely not safe for work. But if you can handle a lot of cussing and a bit of crudeness, we think you'll get a kick out of Joel's creation. Thank you, Joel!

There's been a lot more going on in our Facebook groups as well... we've had two new pyramid games created recently, an upload of some slick 3D printing files, some folks helping Alison write a new complicated FAQ about cards with special powers, some awesome game reviews, show and tell of home brewed cards and containers, and a whole bunch more.

We appreciate all of you so much and look forward to meeting up with you all sometime soon for more fun, be it on social media, Zoom, or Board Game Arena!

We apologize to everyone for the inadvertent break we took in June. We had fully intended to run some June events, but life got complicated and we kept pushing the events a few more days, a few more days, until suddenly it was the end of June. We're very sorry, and so appreciate your patience with us. Our fans are some of the kindest people we know, and it doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you.

But take a look, because we've got 17 new events up now for July and we're ready to have some more fun!

Some highlights:

• For the 4th of July, let's talk US history Chrononauts-style! What if you could change history? What ripples would it have in time? What has made us the country that we are today? Spend an hour of Independence Day with us and have some fun with history.

• Be among the first to playtest some new games, be it Mystery Fluxx tonight, or Game Store Fluxx, or the new digital version of Star Fluxx on Board Game Arena!

• Retailers: Join us for an hour to hear about a special offer we have for Q4, our 2022 lineup, give us feedback about our new store and fulfillment center, and ask us anything you want. We promise you'll learn some things you didn't know!

• Watch some epic games of Homeworlds, from an exhibition game with the designer, John Cooper, to a live medal challenge.

• Be an audience member or possibly a participant (you won't be blindsided) in a game of Looney Family Feud. We've asked our fans to answer some geeky questions, and we'll see whose team can better guess what the survey says!

• The first pyramid game design roundtable was so well received that we are doing another one. If you missed the first, be sure to join us this time!

We expect to have our August event list up much earlier, as well, but would like a little help from all of you. As the year winds down, we want to make sure that everyone has gotten a good amount of fun out of this year of virtual events.

To that end, we would appreciate it if you would fill out this short survey to let us know (1) which days/times are best for you to join an event, and (2) which events you're most interested in. Thanks for your input, and come have some fun with us!

P.S. Special note to old-time Mad Lab Rabbits and Super Duper Games players: please be sure you fill out the survey. We are planning Meet & Greet events for these groups and hope you can join us!

Q: Have you seen Stephen Colbert’s new “questionert” and what were your favorites of its 15 questions?

A: You mean this one? Yes! I enjoyed it so much, in fact, that I suggested that Keith and I talk through those questions on our podcast! Check out Download #264 if you’d like to hear each of us give our answers. As for my favorites, I like the first one (“What’s the best sandwich?”) quite a lot, especially since we both came up with the same answer, which was a Monte Cristo. I also really like question #15 (“Describe the rest of your life in 5 words”), which is a variation of “Tell me your life story in 5 words,” which Keith describes in Download #266 as being his favorite Icebreaker question. You can listen to the show to hear me give several answers to question #15, as well as all the others. But I have a different answer for Keith’s “life story” version of the question, which I’m revealing for the first time here: “Quit NASA to Design Games.”

You may know Pat Fuge, the owner of Gnome Games in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He and his team do a great job of community building, and it shows. They just keep adding more stores!

The newest addition to the Gnome family of great stores is The Gnoshery in scenic Door County. This is their first foray into the board game cafe side of the business, and they are doing it with their usual flair... beautiful and yummy coffees, teas, and treats along with a fun game or two to play while you gnosh.

If you get the chance this summer, stop in and tell them Looney Labs says hi!
