How can the Chester Ronning Centre and the U of A engage and be informed by these needs? On Our BookshelfThe Dawn of Everything: A New History of HumanityRecommended by Ian Wilson, this book is as massive as it is bold. In more than 500 pages (not including endnotes etc.), Graeber and Wengrow take on the likes of Hobbes and Rousseau; explore the lives of ancient peoples in Eurasia, Africa, and the Americas; and challenge pretty much everything we think we know about the history of human civilization. The book is insightful and entertaining. It's an extremely readable 500-pager, an uncommon feat of scholarly writing.
