September 2024

Spring has sprung and so has events season!

This Month’s eNewsletter is all about getting your calendars primed and ready for a season full of family fun and meaningful community connection.

Whether you are a lover of music or movies, slipping or sliding, puppies or pyrotechnics, we have an event planned to match almost everyone’s flavour 🍧.

Movies Under the Stars

Movies Under the Stars will soon return to Paradise Point Parklands for another season of free entertainment.  I'm pleased to announce that pre-movie entertainment is now on offer prior to the movie, including kid's activities and live musicians, so come along to make a night of it!

Save the dates below in your diaries:

  • 📆 26 October, pre-movie commencing 5pm, 'Wonka' viewing at 6:30pm
  • 📆 9 November, pre-movie commencing 5pm, 'Trolls Band Together' viewing at 7pm
  • 📆 15 February, pre-movie commencing 5pm, 'Barbie' viewing at 7pm
  • 📆 15 March, pre-movie commencing 5pm, movie title yet to be announced, viewing at 7pm

Enjoy some of the fine food on offer from the local providers at Paradise Point, or bring your own picnic.

Whilst the movies on offer have tradtionally been targeted at children, we are trialling a viewing that caters for an older audience on 15 March and I'll be looking for your help to decide the title, so keep an eye out on my Facebook and future newsletters to have your say.

Your pawfect chance for a doggy Christmas snap

For those in the community who adore their fur-babies, come along to Paradise Point Parklands on 2 November between 9am and 11am for your opportunity to have a free professional photo taken of you and your four-legged friend.

We will be providing this activation as part of the Animal Welfare League Community Christmas Picnic.  A free digital copy of your image will provided in time for you to include in your Christmas greetings.

A special thank you to Labrador Men's Shed who are generously donating their time to build a very special Division 4 Christmas chair that can be used from year to year for this purpose.
