TERM 4 WEEK 2

Dear valued member of the PLC community,

On Tuesday night, our parents of Year 7 to 9 students were invited to a presentation by ySafe focussing on cyber safety. It provided parents with tips on how to help their daughters navigate their technology use. For any parents who were unable to attend, there are a plethora of resources available on the PLC Scotch Online Safety Hub. This includes examples of technology agreements along with easy-to-read deep dives on many of the popular apps our young people are using today. Thank you to Ms Soni Bailey, Year 9 Pastoral and Academic Co-ordinator, for organising this informative evening.

    Valedictory Service & Dinner

Last Thursday, we celebrated the Class of 2022 at their Valedictory Service, followed by a Valedictory Dinner.

It was a terrific way to highlight the contribution they have made to PLC, wish them well as they embark on their next adventures, and remind them that they will always be able to call PLC home.

Induction Service for Student Leaders 2023

On Monday, we recognised the Class of 2023 as our new student leaders of the College. While we acknowledged those students with official positions, we also acknowledged our Year 12 students who are not office bearers. We know that all our Year 12 students play an integral role in leading the College and a big congratulations to the Class of 2023 for this milestone.

    Student Achievements

    Students Raising Spirits

Congratulations to Year 11 students Sophie Hardcastle, Brinya Wakefield, and Alejandra Serrano Rodriguez who presented at the inaugural UWA Grand Challenges Making a Difference Grant Showcase on their International Baccalaureate Diploma CAS Project.

Their project was Spirit Week and it focused on increasing awareness of mental health. They were extremely grateful for the leadership shown by the Year 6 Student Leaders and generous donations of the PLC Junior School community that enabled 40 backpacks to be created and donated to Operation Sunshine.

    Aurelia Recital Winner

Last weekend, Aurelia Qaqish (Year 8) competed in the North Perth Eisteddfod and came away with first prize for String Recital Under 14.

On that night, she was also awarded the Vasek Young String Players ‘Foundation Trophy for Most Outstanding Junior String Solo.’

    Incredible achievements, Aurelia!
