Summer 2021 Newsletter

August Newsletter

Dear friend:

Mental Health According to Ayurveda

For mental health, our teacher suggests ‘Seva’ or selfless service, along with daily meditation for self-introspection.  Once we examine the great storehouse of light and goodness within each human, we cannot deny our life is spiritual, fragile and yet protected somehow.

How to be content, compassionate and forgiving of all wrongs real and imagined?  How  to reform ourselves rather than others?  How to rise to the challenge of reconciliation, unity and inclusion?  Now is our opportunity to individually and collectively resolve our own inner obstacles to living in the unified field of love.

Summertime brings an increase and then culmination of pitta dosha, so if you have Pitta symptoms such as rash, bacterial infection, gastritis, boils, eruptions, nausea, fever, irritation, criticism, etc., then please postpone decisions possibly  made in anger.  Focus on symptom management until resolved, then only make big life decisions when the heart is cool again.

Meditation is always suggested as the first and last medicine of Ayurveda, as all will be understood and transcended with a clear mind. You know I appreciate it so much when you forward this Ayurveda newsletter to your network.  Subscription is free at:  www.ayurveda-seminars.com

TURIYA THERAPY: SEPT. 3-13, 2021

Turiya Therapy arose from my study of Polarity Therapy in the 1980's and its parent science of Ayurveda, from the 1990's onward. During my classical twelve year apprenticeship with Vaidya Vasant Lad, my beloved mentor of Ayurveda, gave the name “Turiya Therapy” in 1993, to denote the transcendent state of our inner awareness that prevails the more still we become.

The physical protocols promote stillness of the inner mind of the recipient. No doubt the practitioner also benefits from seeking stillness. Turiya Therapy is based in ancient Marma Chikitsa (Trigger Point Therapy) science and its founding philosophy from Ayurveda, Samkhya philosophy. Samkhya philosophy describes that the soul evolved from a seed of consciousness and that self-realization is the purpose of each individual life.

“Be still and know that I am God” is an ancient aphorism to bridge the seeker and the sought into one. Inside each and every individual lies the entire record of the whole humanity. Indeed the whole creation and all its laws exist within the individual, as they maintain a parallel order the greater cosmos.

Stillness facilitates union of the disparate with the singular, the individual with the whole. Then peace and clarity prevail.

Turiya therapy is a group of powerful protocols based in Ayurvedic anatomy and physiology to solve today's individual and global disharmonies. Turiya therapists find that these protocols are capable of addressing issues stored within the connective tissue or fascia, which hold the psycho-emotional factors (‘Chitta’) of disease according to Ayurveda. When consciousness becomes pure and still, deep healing begins.

Turiya Therapy protocols are safe, effective, and easy to perform. The Turiya therapy repertoire is especially applicable in trauma recovery. Turiya Therapy is the stand-alone science, and can equally coordinate with Chiropractic, Massage, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Reiki, and all other bodywork or healing techniques. Turiya techniques are easy to learn and practice anywhere people are in pain, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Join us in-person for this final presentation of this course, soon to be launched as an online learning experience for Levels I (General Session) and II (Balancing the Doshas).  For more information and to enroll in this program, please click here.

ABHYANGA (AYURVEDA OIL MASSAGE) THERAPY:  SEPT. 17-27, 2021

Generalized Oil Massage therapy is a wonderful technique from ancient Ayurveda for anointing the body from head to toe with suitable oils for the Prakruti (Constitutional Nature) and the Vikruti (Current Status).  Oils impart mineral assimilation, grounding, nourishment, softening, strengthening, rejuvenation and increased endurance.

This convenient 10-day intensive program gives emphasis to the practical techniques needed for professional practice of Ayurveda Massage Therapy.  This program is a post-graduate training for those wanting to specialize in the art of individualized body treatments.

I learned this protocol at the feet of my beloved teacher, Vaidya Vasant D. Lad in 1991 and refined it over the decades to be frequently referred to as, ‘the best massage I’ve ever had’.

This is the last announcement you’ll see about enrolling in this unique class, my final presentation of this precious knowledge before handing off the teaching to my dear Jessica Kruse, who has been practicing this method very successfully for over a decade internationally.

TRAVEL ADVISORIES FOR INDIA:

PANCHAKARMA TRIP TO INDIA
NOV. 12 - DEC. 30 – 6 WEEKS TREATMENT PROGRAM

Since 2015, I’ve been inspired to host a group for Ayurveda panchakarma healing each year, except last year.  Panchakarma is the traditional practice for cleansing and rejuvenation, whether to prevent disease or treat chronic disease conditions.

The physicians are from traditional Vaidya (physician) families and faithfully continue the treatment protocols based in the medical scriptures of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the world’s oldest holistic health science and has been carefully and lovingly preserved by families of doctors who have understood the importance to humanity of preserving the treasured knowledge and skill of panchakarma.

Last year we had to miss our healing program, and this year we’re still awaiting final confirmation for travel.  The Ayurveda Treatment Visa is available and tourist visas are not at present available.  Keep in touch regarding India’s changing travel rules.

Meanwhile, I’m sending good wishes for your peace, health and contentment now and always. Yours,
