Many of us look forward to this as a time to connect over food, whether it’s turkey, candy, or kreplach. The centre's programming follows this spirit giving us food for thought so please stay tuned for some upcoming announcements. We’re also celebrating also Islamic History Month. This year’s theme is “Health and Healing” in recognition of the significant contributions Muslim scholars and scientists have made to the field of medicine. We want to take a moment to thank those of you who joined us on September 25th for Matthew Thiessen’s talk titled “A Jewish Jesus: Restoring Jesus to Judaism”. In case you missed it, you can find the link below to view the recording. We gathered again this month at Fox & Fable for “The New Fundamentalism: Politics & Economics”. It was great to continue to see so many familiar faces. We are looking forward to seeing you all again on November 7th, where we will discuss “The New Fundamentalism: Religion & Literature”. An Evening with Peter Beinart is now less than a week away on Tuesday, Oct 22nd. If you haven’t done so already please register to join us in person or online. Who is Peter Beinart you might ask? He is a Professor of Journalism and Political Science at the Newmark School of Journalism at the City University of New York. He is a contributing opinion writer at The New York Times, Editor-at-Large of Jewish Currents, an MSNBC political commentator and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Foundation for Middle East Peace. He writes the Beinart Notebook newsletter on Substack.Com . We are anticipating an insightful discussion about public debates over defining Zionism, antisemitism, and campus protests. Sincerely, Joseph R. Wiebe UPCOMING EVENTSAn Evening with Peter BeinartOct 22, 2024 | 7 p.m. MDT Please note this event has moved from the Cargill Theatre to Mayer Family Community Hall.
