Don’t Miss Spring Festival This Saturday 🌸

Dear Residents,

I was honored to stand in solidarity with Strathfield's Nepalese community at their candlelight vigil last Friday to show our support to those impacted by the devastating floods in the Nepal-Tibet border region. Strathfield's strength lies within our multicultural community and it was heart-warming seeing so many people there to show support.

In other news, Council are excited to share the official opening date for the Strathfield Park Revitalisation Project and Cooke Park Skate Park Upgrade Project! It has been a long time coming and I appreciate everyone's patience as works were underway. On Monday 14 September I will be joined by NSW Member for Strathfield, Jason Yat-sen Li MP to officially open these projects. You are invited to join us at Strathfield Park at 10am and then at Cooke Park Skate Park at 11.30am.

Lasty, the Spring Festival is this Saturday at Strathfield Park! Join us from 10am for rides, food trucks, markets, kids activities and Bluey! See more details below or visit the website to plan your day.

Strathfield Spring Festival is this Saturday!
Here is all the information you need to know:

🎶Lots of singing and dancing will be happening on the main stage, including 2 Bluey Live Interactive Experiences on stage at 11:20am and 1:15pm.
📍Strathfield Spring Festival is happening at Strathfield Park with 3 festival zones.
🤩The fun starts from 10am and concludes 5pm!
⭐There are activities catering for all ages including teens! On the synthetic field closest to Chalmers Road you will find inflatables, a stunt jump, parkour and laser tag!
👧🏻Support the local community with energetic performances from Strathfield South Public School, Homebush Public School and local dance schools.
🎡Get your heart racing with a selection of exciting amusement rides offering fun for festival-goers young and old.
🍔Come hungry and enjoy delicious food from around the world.

Getting to the festival is easy. The nearest train station is Strathfield Station, and Route 480 buses run along Homebush Road, providing convenient access to the event.

Spring Cleaning made easy with Council Clean-up Collection

Need a bulky item collection? Each residential property in the Strathfield LGA can book up to three Council clean-up collections per year, with up to 2m x 3m of household items collected each time.

Before booking, please check the list of accepted items on our website, as items that are not accepted will not be collected.

Live in an apartment or unit? Please contact your Strata Manager first to confirm your building's clean-up arrangements before making a booking. Bookings can be easily made via the StrathfieldHub App.

The Enfield Tram Service

Established in 1891, the Enfield Tram Service ceased operation 78 years ago on 21 August 1948. Trams ‘… were decked with floral tributes, and the last one had so many wreaths on board that there was hardly room to swing a tram ticket.’

That very last night-time tram celebrated noisily with billycans and saucepans tied to the back. It was followed by 20 motorcycles and 50 cars before 300 people ‘celebrated’ at a lively wake after 1am in Enfield.
