Innovation, Commitment and Outstanding Services Recognised by Awards
As we edge closer to our Awards ceremony, set to premiere on Facebook this Saturday, August 28 from 6.30pm, we highlight some of the inspirational people who are being recognised for their contribution to the community through Surf Life Saving.
Young Lives Saved as Nipper Completes First Ever Rescue
Up-and-coming Far North Coast Branch Nipper, Jack Keough says he “didn’t want anyone to get hurt” after he bravely fought against a strong tide to rescue two surfers in the Richmond River last Friday.
Vale Peter "Mick" Ellercamp
It is with great sadness that Surf Life Saving NSW learned of the passing of Life Member and surf sports champion Peter "Mick" Ellercamp.
Mick made a truly incredible and long lasting impact on the Surf Life Saving movement, particularly within the surf boat community, and he will be sorely missed.
Surf Life Saving NSW extends our sincere condolences to Mick's family and friends.
Vale Ken Murray
It is with great sadness that Surf Life Saving NSW learned of the passing of Life Member and surf boat legend Ken Murray.
Ken's outstanding contribution to Surf Life Saving and the surf boat community will leave a lasting legacy and he will be greatly missed by all.
Surf Life Saving NSW extends our sincere condolences to Ken's family and friends.

Upcoming Grant Opportunity – NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program
The NSW Office of Sport have confirmed the next round of the Surf Club Facility Program will be opening in the coming months. A Memo is now available to download which will assist clubs interested in applying to compile the required documentation and approvals to lodge an application once open.
NSW Govt COVID-19 Financial Support
Through this extremely challenging time SLSNSW would like to make its clubs and members aware of funding opportunities which could be used to help support clubs and/or members.
SLSA Women's Mentoring Program
Applications are now open for the Women’s Mentoring Program. Applications close 26 September, with the program launching on Tuesday 26 October.
Nominations for Life Membership - SLSNSW
Nominations for Life Membership of SLSNSW are now open. Nominations are to be forwarded via branch by Thursday, 30 September 2021.
COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility
A reminder that volunteer patrolling members (Bronze/SRC) of SLSNSW are eligible for the COVID-19 Vaccine. Visit the SLS Members Area to find out more and to download the Letter and Eligibility Declaration Form. Members do not need to be vaccinated to patrol.

Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Tweed Lifeguard Supervisor
The Tweed Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the lifeguard service in the Tweed Shire Local Government Area (LGA) meets, or exceeds the obligations outlined in the contract.
Branch Administration Officer – North Coast
Reporting to the Branch President, you will have the opportunity to use your customer service, communication and administrative skills to support our Clubs and in turn support our lifesavers on the beach.
Club Development Officer - Central Coast
The purpose of this role is to support, engage and promote Central Coast Clubs by providing assistance in the areas related to development, membership recruitment & retention, sustainability and compliance.
Beach Safety Awareness Presenter
Deliver beach safety talks and sessions to primary and secondary school students. Applicants must have their SRC or Bronze Medallion, drivers license, WWCC, own vehicle, and a passion for helping the local community.
Early Childhood Beach Safety Presenter
Deliver a brand new beach safety show to young children between the ages of 3 and 6. We urge anyone interested to apply but early childhood education experience and knowledge will be highly regarded. Training provided.
Multicultural Beach Safety Presenter
Deliver beach safety and rock fishing safety talks to community groups and diverse audiences in English and your own language both virtually and face to face. We urge anyone interested to apply but those with a strong knowledge and interest in their own culture will be highly regarded. Training provided.
Australian Lifeguard Service NSW - Recruitment Now Open!
With over 330 positions available across 90 locations, the ALS is encouraging surf lifesavers to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:
- Lifeguard Supervisors
- Seasonal Staff
- Casual Staff.
