UHC Day 2024: Join the official campaign launch!

Join us on 3 October 2024 for the official launch of the 2024 UHC Day campaign!

Over the last 20 years, financial protection has progressively deteriorated, with 2 billion people experiencing financial hardship and 1.3 billion people pushed into poverty due to out-of-pocket health costs. That is why this year’s UHC Day campaign will focus on urging countries to strengthen financial protection and reduce financial barriers to accessing essential health services and products, particularly for the poorest and most vulnerable.

Join UHC2030 and the Coalition of Partnerships for Universal Health Coverage and Global Health for a one-hour webinar on how improving access to health services goes hand in hand with protection from financial hardship in order to make progress towards UHC. During this event, we will announce the 2024 UHC Day campaign theme, share this year’s resources, and answer questions about the campaign and how you can engage with it to strengthen your advocacy.

Highlights from the UN General Assembly

This year's UN General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Week, world leaders came together to enhance international cooperation and agree on how to get the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda back on track.

The UNGA provided an opportunity to keep health and UHC at the fore of the discussion. Click here to read our summary of the Summit of the Future, the UN high-level meeting on AMR and side events on financial protection and the Lusaka Agenda.
